Occasionally shallow, occasionally gripping, ‘The Myth of Us’ is a rollercoaster scoot through a couple’s relationship, focusing on the myriad moments that defined their admire, disapprove, and indifference. Structurally, the film is almost a clone of Lift Reiner’s earlier ‘When Harry Met Sally’, complete with actor-to-audience monologues, flashforwards and flashbacks, and wisecracking supporting characters who are occasionally more attractive than the leads.

The subject, a marriage that is unravelling, does not necessarily do for a gigantic theatre date movie (I can’t eye somebody saying, “Hey, baby, let’s go discover ‘Who’s Horrified of Virginia Wolf’ to score in ‘the mood’”), but on video, the film’s many subtleties and moods can be truly appreciated.

The two leads, Bruce Willis, as a laid-back, disorganized comedy writer, and Michelle Pfeiffer, as a tightly-wound writer of crossword puzzles, have a lot of charm, but give uneven performances. One wishes that Willis’ intensity and energy in the restaurant scene with Seize Reiner and Rita Wilson, or Pfeiffer’s, in the climactic speech at the film’s conclusion, could have been maintained through the entire film. There are a few too many moments where the actors waft, for the film to be truly large.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Story of Us! Click Here

The high point of the film comes advance the conclusion, when Pfeiffer flashes befriend through a montage of the major moments of her marriage. Until this sequence, the relationship doesn’t have an emotional core, something to really obtain us sympathize with the couple. Reiner depends heavily on the stars’ charisma to involve us, but the nature of the myth works against this. This isn’t a knock at Willis and Pfeiffer; I’m not certain Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan could have pulled it off, either!

The supporting cast is very pleasant, particularly Reiner and Wilson (she’s making a career of playing wise-cracking friends to neurotic women in broad films!), Paul Reisner and Julie Hagerty (nice to seek her encourage, she looks marvellous!), and Tim Matheson, (who manages to get a divorced, lonely dentist, trying to connect, not near across as his character in ‘Animal House’.) Search For, also, for a silly cameo by Betty White, Red Buttons, Jayne Meadows, and Tom Poston, literally manifesting the line about six people being in a married couple’s bed.

‘The Chronicle of Us’ is not as helpful a film as it might have been, but it does offer some satisfactory moments, and the upbeat ending offers hope that, through notion, relationships do not have to self-destruct.

This isn’t a dreadful message to pass along!

A suprizingly stinging movie to those who have been divorced or who have had marital troubles.

So what’s not to like about Bruce Willis and Michele Pfeiffer ideally mated in a movie? Well, dispite the fact that they are fine film stars, they are portrayed as a man and a woman with unfortunately normal problems that hit beautiful considerable on target to myself and my wife (both second marriages) .

He is wild eyed and spontaneous, she is preoccupied with the car not having wiper fluid. He likes sex with as the mood strikes, she wants to beget positive that they haven’t forgotten to place tooth fairy quarters under the pillows. I could go on and on, but if you have been in a long term relationship, this will hit you hard somewhere, because even the handsome people with lots of money have shapely powerful the true same kind of problems keeping things working just, man and woman wise.

Would have been 5 stars with a divorce at the demolish, but after 90 minutes of fighting, we obtain a last second syrupy ending. You can feel it coming, but aloof worth seeing.

Think of the title: “fair people act out the fight we unprejudiced had yesterday”.

Recommended for adults only, kids will yawn and newlyweds will scream “this could never happen to us”.

As a fan of Asian cinema, I’ve often wondered why I haven’t reviewed more Japanese anime. Dilapidated anime has very complex storylines that can attach most movies to shame. “VEXILLE” (a.k.a. Vexille 2077 Nihon Sakaku, Isolation) is from the same folks responsible for Appleseed and Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C.. Director Fumihiko Sori and writer Haruka Handa’s latest is a blend of ragged 2 dimensional animation and 3-D effects that gives us a vision of a futuristic world. People who saw Appleseed may sight the similarities to Masamune Shirow’s futuristic designs since they both worked on the 2004 hit exciting film.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Vexille - Movie! Click Here

The myth in “Vexille” begins as Daiwa Industries leads Japan in technological advancements as an attempt for Imperial Aspirations (recalls Japan in WWII) . Daiwa began experimenting in grievous cloning, bio-engineering human tissue to combine with machine parts. Furious with these experiments, the U.N. orders Japan to conclude all activities. In retaliation, Japan sanctions a rule of total isolation from the rest of the world, and the country even goes as far as generating a magnetic force field around its borders.

After 10 years, American intelligence intercepts information that Japan has developed a diagram that can turn humans into cyborgs. A dim ops group called “S.W.O.R.D.” is sent to infiltrate isolated Japan to salvage the truth of this matter and terminate it if critical. Vexille, one of the commando units sent to Japan soon finds herself the lone survivor who may be able to conclude Daiwa with its unfavorable plans. She hooks up with Maria and her gang of renegades to infiltrate Daiwa. But is Maria more than what she seems? The plain secret may be more than they bargained for….

I’ve read that “Vexille” wasn’t such a mammoth hit when it came out in Japan. Perhaps, anime fans experienced some “cyberpunk” overload because there are quite a lot of features that display a futuristic world with “mechas” involved; or maybe because the spot in “Vexille” portrays the country as a “rogue” government in the world’s eyes. I wouldn’t know the apt reason. But this new work by Sori and Handa seemed too similar to Shirow’s past works. It incorporates familiar themes of the usual corporate entity that wants to play God, a strong-willed, gutsy but dazzling heroine, futuristic military weaponry and the premise of man vs. machine or the morality of man and machine. The film may actually be homage to Masamune Shirow.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Vexille - Movie! Click Here

The animation in “Vexille” is kind of a mixed bag. I loved the fact that the characters don’t have the usual over-expressive “bulging” eyes, unique colored hair and perfect complexion. Vexille and Maria (as well the entire supporting cast) looked almost realistic in their features, it sidestepped the usual anime conventions that we’re stale to in the past. Their movements are also very fluid and serene that outshines the motion seize in “Beowulf” but comes a lot short of the quality of the extraordinary animation in “Final Fantasy: Advent Children”. I also found it a bit droll that Americans looked like they’re mixed and peaceful looked a tad Asian. (Not complaining, unprejudiced stating an observation) Also, I saw this film in its modern Japanese language; shriek actors Yasuko Matsuyuri as sexy rebel, Maria (This character makes me want to become a cartoon) and Meisa Kuroki as Vexille do a very decent job in expressing emotions.

The film totally looks intriguing with the execution of CGI and passe cell animation. The effects work by Oxybot is perfect for this type of movie. “Vexille” seems to borrow elements from Ghost in the Shell, Blade Runner and even Dune. (You’ll be impressed once you study the “Jags”) The one fault that the film has, that somewhat lost its effectiveness is the lack of dramatic impact. The legend is deep enough to maintain experienced viewers eager but the execution seemed a bit lackluster. It opted to determine for the usual histrionics and missed a unbelievable opportunity for emotional lisp by exploring the dramatic repercussions of the film’s main premise. Graphics can only carry an piquant feature so far.

Overall, I did delight in “Vexille” more than I did “Appleseed Ex Machina”. I guess I’m so faded to Anime with all the dramatic elements explored that I was somewhat disappointed. The film had all the dynamic potential with its deep premise that wasn’t fully realized.

Recommended! For Japanese Anime or Sci-Fi films FANS! [3 ½ Stars]

After reading a short synopsis and the Japanese version trailer of this movie (when looking for something to go scrutinize one evening), I figured I’d check it out. I’m not a colossal fan of a lot of Japanese anime, though some of it is chilly, and I’m not normally a titanic fan of involving drama/action in general, but WOW was Vexille a suited surprise! If I had to compare it to something, I would say it’s Final Fantasy meets Titan A.E. and maybe a microscopic bit of the Matrix.

The animation style was unbiased elegant! The mix of cartoon with computer-generated animation was a colorful examine to see. The scenes in this movie had improbable dimension, color, style, and a totally mesmerizing quality. It definitely made it very easy to win myself drawn into this futuristic world.

The fable is immense too! Helpful character development and a sci-fi element that is at least partially believable (and certainly, if nothing else, enchanting) . Position in the year 2077, the technology is slick, clever, and chilly - yet not so far fetched that you can’t imagine the possibilities suggested. Unplug and catch into the fantasy and you’ll have a huge time. The movie has a bit of a Matrix quality in that (aside from its clear political elements) there is the strong sense of an underlying (almost spiritual) theme driving the yarn but it’s unprejudiced far enough removed from the surface myth that you can dig for messages if you want to or fair relish the roam without getting into the philosophy of the film. I like movies that have multi-faceted elements like this. It made me want to contemplate it again to try and blueprint more out of it.

In short, the movie is spacious! It’s more of a drama than out and out action (so it might strike some viewers as a runt slow-paced in places), but the action is fun and the anecdote is satisfactory. The characters are such that you care about them and that draws you even further into the memoir. There is also some frigid music in the film, well placed with the various scenes and novel enough so that it doesn’t strike as typical. My current songs are “Target Practice” by Asian Dub Foundation, “Bird Flu” by M.I.A. and “The Virus” by Paul Oakenfold. Again, the artwork and C.G. effects are sparkling and really fun to recognize.

I loved the movie and would inspect it again (and will) because I’m ordering it today! Parents who are though-provoking about the divulge will be gay to know that there are no sexual themes in this film. There is a light sub context of a fancy sage prove, but it’s not the main focus of the film. There is sci-fi action and violence but nothing bloody or grotesque. There is a tiny bit of language, thus earning it its PG-13 rating.

If you like anime or objective genuine sci-fi, both elements should please. I recommend it.

A 3:30 movie staple (during the 1970s) finally arrives in DVD! A poor movie, but tantalizing in a car-wreck kind of diagram.

The first thing that comes to mind is the costuming…this movie was made in 1965, but everyone’s dressed for the sock hop! One exception is the Beau Brummells, featured as a club band early in the film…one glance at these guys and you’ll maintain that yes, even native Californian’s tried to emulate the examine and the sound of the Beatles. Mountainous band (and they actually wrote some handsome friendly music) …but their efforts to gawk like the Ed Sullivan-ear Fab Four is droll.

Speaking of the club…it’s located in the fictional city of Hainesville, California and its called the “Whisky-A-Go-Go”. I don’t fetch out remarkable, but my recollection is that the Whisky is on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood!

It’s a big chance to gawk some early performances by future prominent actors…you’ll contemplate the hairiest Beau Bridges you can stand (this movie is Beau-tiful), Ron Howard (looks exactly like Opie to the point of distraction, Tony Basil (yes, that Toni Basil), Tish Satisfactory (daughter of Ann Sothern), and Tim Rooney (Mickey’s son) .

Someone pointed out to me recently that the giant ducks were controlled by attaching strings to their legs and wings…no diagram to no for determined except to see, and definite enough, you can sight the strings. Sort of took the fun out of it for me.

Watch for one of the most offensive endings ever committed to film. Highly recommended for camp value. If you ever score the chance, peek the MST3K treatment of this film.

This was, at the time of its release, no less than the crowning achievement of man. So it should not shadowy the glory of Village of the Giants one bit that a mere 4 years later, Armstrong’s moonwalk eclipsed this film’s importance to humanity. The fact remains that Village of the Giants represents a watershed moment in our history.

It is, and you can enjoy me, because I am a believable guy, the BEST Abominable MOVIE OF ALL TIME!

All the things that form Bert I. Gordon movies what they are are prove here, in full- and silly- force. In fact, it is as if all Bert’s planets aligned at once, and he found his lawful calling, intelligent beyond mere Substantial Beasts and Cyclopean things and giant Spiders, to those most photogenic of glandular mishaps: Giant women! Not to say that there isn’t a giant tarantula in this film, or a great beast in the whiny develop of a young Beau Bridges, but Bert’s camera clearly favors the bulky charms of Joy and Tish (as well as the average-sized pulchritude of Toni) over the evermore musty thrills of mere oversized creatures. Like, giant grasshoppers are SO 1957!

Other things contribute to the overall beautiful quality of this film’s ineptitude, not the least of which is, despite Bert’s recurrent leering, a basically naïve sensibility: movies had not become too dirty or trashy yet. The dreadful teens are about as menacing as wheelchair-bound octogenarians- they wear cardigans, for goshsakes. And while there is a obvious cheesecake factor at play here, it is in the G-rated manner of the Frankie-and-Annie Beach Party films, not the slimy type in evidence in later Hammer horrors.

Other dreadful movies are equally as “poor.” Al Adamson, Jerry Warren, Colman Francis, Ed Wood’s later stuff, even Bert himself a few years later… all of these guys acquire lousy films. But they’re sleazier somehow- not as *fun.*

Fans of the Monstrous Sun Demon know well how star Robert Clarke’s trousers became soaked with sweat during filming in the hot sun, to the point where it looked as though the Sun Demon couldn’t control his bladder. That led to unintentional hilarity for B-lovers.

Now imagine several howlingly droll instances like that for every limited of this film’s 80-minute accelerate time. Dialogue, space, effects, music, direction- everything is side-splittingly …here. There are more laughs in this movie than in Jim Carrey’s entire filmography.

And far from being the bewildering, incoherently abominable mess that Conception 9 is, this movie is very straightforward; it fair does everything in such an over-the-top and utterly deplorable fashion.

Now, in the manner of the copy on those lovably hyperbolic posters from days gone by, I will outline only a portion of this movie’s treasured moments:

See! Beau Bridges try to buy up a chick by telling her his dad is the biggest man in the meat business!

See! Where John Ratzenberger got his inspiration for Cliff Clavan the mother-dominated postman in Beau’s wink-wink nudge-nudge performance!

See! Ronnie Howard accomplish a substance which turns normal things into giants, and act surprised when they leave!

Buy,Download, Or Stream Village of the Giants! Click Here

See! Tommy Kirk claim the giant ducks for his beget, raising his arms as though he honest scored the winning touchdown!
See! The despicable prance of a young cowboy on Joy Harmon’s bust!
See! Bert I. Gordon’s directorial genius, as shots of the tail feathers of ducks being tortured by gaffers are intercut with shots of boogieing girls’ rear ends!
See! Song after song after song after song, each one more hypnotically campy and dated than the last!
See! “Giants” titillating very s l o w ly, to signify how totally, you know, Stout they are!
See! Cops not peep the 30-foot grand teens in technicolor clothing standing ten feet away!
See! Tommy crash a spurious chair over Beau’s skinny, knobby, hairy plaster leg, then listen in incredulity as Beau shouts, “O o o o o o oww!” and pouts!
See! Several scenes of interminable length while the abominable “teens” shake it before the camera! Ogle Beau perform graceful exercise of the ever-popular dance technique known as ‘The White Man’s Overbite!’
See! Midgets longing to be giants!
See! Great more astonishing, bad stuff than I could command you about if this review were five times this long! This really doesn’t even open to touch how humorous the dialogue, or performances, or the direction are!

See! Yourself buying this dvd hasty! Then, take one for a friend!

See! also: Ugly Sun Demon; Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine; Unbelievable She-Monster; Jail Bait; Brain From Planet Arous; Phantom Planet; Attack of the Fifty-Foot Woman (1958) ; Magic Sword!

This film is one of the two best Samurai films of all time, the other being Kurosawa’s SEVEN SAMURAI. CHUSHINGURA (”loyalty”) is based on a loyal incident in 18th century Japan, wherein 47 valid retainers of a disgraced lord seize a protest of vengeance on the unfriendly nobleman who caused his downfall and death. The anecdote is timeless, the acting is uniformly blooming, the camera work is so graceful that any frame of this film could be hung in an art gallery, and the music is bright and heart-lifting. It’s a complex station, following many separate individuals as their vengeance unfolds, so first-time viewers may gather confused. No matter — it all comes together at the slay. Peer for the slack large Toshiro Mifune in a cameo role as a Master Spearman who becomes drinking buddies with one of the 47, and who takes it upon himself to enjoy off the cops in the final showdown so that his pal and the other 46 won’t be interrupted before they can fetch and behead the poor guy and fulfill their train. I have watched this movie many, many times, and I always pick up something modern and improbable in it. Now that it’s FINALLY available on video, don’t miss it!!

Despite the film’s division into two parts, I assume the Chushingura is best understood as a complicated myth told in three acts.

The first act, culminating in the seppuku of Lord Asano, details the conflict between the young lord and Kira, the Shogun’s master of ceremonies, and is, in my belief, the most intriguing as it unfolds logically, tragically, and inevitably towards the spilling of blood in the Shogun’s castle. Asano and Kira, at least in this stage of the film, are fully realized and three-dimensional characters, and their conflict can be understood on several levels: idealism versus pragmatism; rural versus urban; and, most centrally, a conflict between different conceptions of honor. Kira is slighted because Asano won’t point to him the deference he feels he deserves, and Asano cannot come by Kira’s attempt to lisp him a lesson without fatally wounding his pride. The characters feel trusty because the space is developed so carefully, and we as viewers understand why the valuable actors behave as they do.

I mediate the movie bogs down a bit in the second act where the retainers of Asana set their revenge on Kira. I also feel it is at this point that those odd with this narrative may win it difficult to follow the residence. Like the assassination of Thomas Becket in 12th century England, the sage of the 47 sincere retainers has left the historian with not only a wealth of necessary documents but also of contemporary analysis of exactly how the events were interpreted. Whereas Becket’s slay resonated because of the changing perceptions of the limits of temporal power in medieval Europe, the 47 ronin believe the changing nature of samurai honor following the pacification of Japan under the Tokugawa shogunate. Unfortunately, the movie does runt to justify the issues alive to despite a three and half hour presentation. The historical Oishi, for instance, worked patiently unhurried the scenes for years to restore the clan’s honor and holdings under the leadership of Asano’s younger brother whereas Horibe represented the more radical belief that the ronin owed personal allegiance only to their plain lord. In the movie, by dissimilarity, Oishi makes reference to restoring the clan and questions Asano’s judgment at the castle, but it is absolutely unclear in the context of the film whether this represents his moral beliefs or is simply portion of the feint to divert attention from the location to raze Kira. It is, in fact, hard to ever discern exactly what Oishi is planning, even in hindsight. Horibe, as the leader of the other waft of the retainers, fairs worse, emerging only as Toshiro Mifune’s drinking buddy (Mifune, though always scrumptious to leer, is largely wasted in a sub-plot that is completely superfluous to the chronicle) . I don’t interrogate complete historical fidelity, but I do demand the events to compose coherently and to address the main issues of the anecdote. I’m not saying that it is a complete mess, honest that it is hard to follow at times, and it is not always distinct what motivates the characters, and, as film usually does, some of the subtleties of the valid events are lost.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Chushingura! Click Here

Thankfully, the provocative and famed battle in the snow largely redeems any momentary flagging of interest. My only quibble is that Kira has degenerated by this point into an absolute caricature of his previous self, becoming the embodiment of the man without honor. I suspect this is incorporated less from history and more from the popularizations of this fable, e.g., the various kabuki stagings.

Others have spoken of the glowing visuals, so I won’t belabor the point. Suffice it to say this alone is a excellent reason to gaze this film. Others have also spoken of the tiresome waddle. This is also accurate, and if you ask a tight focus in your movies, this one probably isn’t for you.

Season three: How can the cast of Buffy even hope to top the comely second season? Well, for starters the very first episode is ample. In “ANNE”, peaceful hurting from the events that occurred at the waste of season 2, Buffy tries to forget her past and lives in another town working a waitress job until a girl recognizes her and asks for her back. Buffy realizes who and what she is and returns to Sunnydale, where the Scoobies have been filling in for the Slayer’s absence. Then there is the addition of a current Slayer, Faith (Eliza Dukshu…remember her in Accurate Lies? All grown up!!) who appears in Sunnydale as a much ally for the Buffy and the scoobies. This is short-lived though, as she soon becomes one of their greatest threats. The foreshadowing of plotlines in the second season become apparent as this season’s villain is introduced…none other than the mayor of Sunnydale, who is attempting to ascend into a true/pure demon.

This season boasts many of the show’s strongest episodes such as “The Wish”, where Cordelia unknowingly makes a wish to a vengeance demon (Anyanka, who becomes the Anya we all like to laugh at later) and wishes that Buffy never came to Sunnydale. This episode is mountainous, as we scrutinize an alternate reality where Buffy left California and never stopped the Master from rising and as a result, he succeeded in opening the Hellmouth. Truly one of the better episodes. We also are given a taste of foreshadowing in later episodes…Buffy’s sister Dawn (to advance in season 5) is mentioned in a glimmer of dialogue that will remain meaningless until two years later (can you procure the episode? Hint…listen to both Faith and Buffy talk in the later epsiodes) . Faith is terrific as Buffy’s nemesis, a Slayer fair like her. Oh, did I mention Angel returns from a hell dimension as well?

The scoobies gather their enjoy star time as well. In “THE ZEPPO”, Xander proves that he is more than impartial the traditional fragment of the group, adept at getting them donuts and not great else. In “THE WISH” and “DOPPLEGANGLAND”, we procure to observe a Vamp Willow…very intelligent and two of the season’s best episodes. This season also brings us more of the Watcher’s Council, the mysterious group that Giles works for including Wesley, who later leaves to wait on Angel and Cordelia in Los Angeles in the spin-off expose Angel. And finally, we win to peruse the Scoobies graduate in a very typical Sunnydale fashion…with a titanic battle. It was hard to top season two, but this season is more of Joss Whedon’s masterpiece of television; let people and critics shun it…we all know titanic TV when we gape it.

While many people claim that Season Two is the best season ever of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I favor Season Three instead. It features the introduction of fan favorites Eliza Dushku (as Faith, a renegade Slayer) and Emma Caulfield (as Anya, broken-down “patron saint” of scorned women) as well as a keeps-you-guessing storyline. Season Three is also the most consistent season - there are no “stinker” episodes like Season Two’s “Dreadful Eggs” or Season Four’s “Beer Dreadful.”

This location contains all 22 episodes of the first season. They are:

“Anne” - After sending Angel to hell at the demolish of the previous Season, Buffy has race to L.A. and changed her name, abandoning her Slayer responsibilities. But when someone she’s previously helped recognizes her and asks for her wait on again, can she refuse?

“Insensible Man’s Party” - Buffy’s help, but not all is just. She’s peaceful expelled from school, and her friends have some serious repressed enrage that’s impartial waiting to burst out. And then there’s the zombies that shatter her “welcome home” party…

“Faith, Hope and Trick” - Eliza Dushku (Bring It On) appears as sexy unusual Slayer Faith, whose camaraderie with Buffy’s friends makes her a bit jealous. It also features the introduction of Mr. Trick, one of the funnier (and one of the few dusky) characters to appear on Buffy.

“Beauty and the Beasts” - Angel’s wait on from Hell slightly feral and werewolf Oz may have been getting out of his cage during the tubby moon. When there’s a series of brutal murders, Buffy and Willow have to assume the possibility that one of their boyfriends is the culprit.

“Homecoming” - One of the funniest episodes of Buffy ever, along with “Doppelgangland” (perceive below) . Buffy and Cordelia are in a no-holds-barred hurry to become Homecoming Queen. But they’re soon in grand pains when Homecoming coincides with Mr. Trick’s unique sizable game event, Slayerfest ‘98.

“Band Candy” - Another hysterically silly episode, in which a batch of magically enhanced candy makes all the adults in Sunnydale act like irresponsible teenagers - including Giles and Buffy’s mother Joyce.

“Revelations” - The Scooby Gang has found out about Angel’s return, and are not gay with Buffy for keeping it a secret. And Faith’s novel Watcher, Gwendolyn Post, arrives in Sunnydale.

“Lover’s Bolt” - James Marsters returns as a lovelorn Spike, who’s lost Drusilla to a Chaos Demon. When he kidnaps Willow and Xander, and forces Buffy and Angel to work together with him, you know badness is going to ensue…and it does in a heartbreaking conclusion.

“The Wish” - Angry by Xander’s betrayal and her social ostracism, Cordelia wishes that Buffy had never approach to Sunnydale. Itsy-bitsy does she know that vengeance demon Anya (Emma Caulfield) is there to accomplish it advance fair. Suddenly she finds herself in a world where Willow and Xander are vampires and the Master rules Sunnydale after murky.

“Amends” - When the ghosts of Angel’s past victims appear to torment him, Buffy must acquire out what is doing this. Also, Willow and Oz reconcile.

“Gingerbread” - When Joyce finds two children’s bodies, apparently killed by witches, the town gears up for a massive witch hunt. Buffy and Willow rep themselves caught in the middle of it.

“Helpless” - On her eighteenth birthday, Buffy finds herself losing her Slayer powers. When her mother is kidnapped by a psychotic vampire unleashed by the Watcher’s Council, Buffy must put her armed with only her wits.

“The Zeppo” - While Buffy and co. stave off yet another apocalypse, Xander finds himself hanging out with a bunch of zombies, saving the school from being blown up, and…losing his virginity!?

“Abominable Girls” - Unique Watcher Wesley Wyndham-Pryce makes his appearance, and Faith shows Buffy a prance on the wild side that ends in tragedy.

“Consequences” - After the deputy mayor’s death, Buffy and Faith glean themselves feeling trapped and stupefied. Faith takes a decided turn for the worse, and joins forces with the cheerfully sinister Mayor of Sunnydale.

“Doppelgangland” - A spell performed by Willow and Anya brings Vampire Willow from the world of “The Wish” (survey above) to normal Sunnydale. Hysterically funny; the highlight has to be when Willow masquerades as Vampire Willow.

Remakes usually surface like the bubbles in a bathtub, with an expected reeking sensation. However, this remake is rather droll, even though it does not measure up with the new. The cast is decent and the yarn comical without remarkable greatness to be pondered, which leaves the audience with an appetizing cinematic experience that is worth a viewing and several laughs.

In football, individuals achieve in hundreds of hours over the off-season in the weight room to procure into ideal shape and the team polishes its plays to perfection through countless hours of preparation by coaches and players. Despite all the preparations, one single mistake could wreck the whole station, which could possibly result in a loss, or injury. This in turn could have a downward spiraling affect on the team as a whole and affect the whole season. Thus, when it happens, the coach is usually in the face of the player to originate obvious that it never happens again, as mistakes are what separate the winners from the losers. This is why football is the ultimate team sport. In the testosterone pumped remake The Longest Yard, Paul Crewe (Adam Sandler) embodies the mistake of all mistakes in a football career, as he is sent to prison for the theft of his girlfriend’s Bentley.

Paul Crewe destroyed the brave view of hard work and dedication that surrounds football some years before the film takes status by shaving points in a football game for personal regain. In disgrace, Crewe has withdrawn from public life while his girlfriend, played by Courteney Cox Arquette, flourishes in exposure. This personal conflict between the two leads the drunken Crewe to choose her car, as she has it reported stolen. The combination of alcohol, luminous mouthing, and the car theft among other things lands Crewe a lengthy prison term in the Texas penal system. Crewe ends up in Texas due to Warden Hazen (James Cromwell) who has pulled some strings to have Crewe sentenced in his prison, as he wants to bag the Texas penitentiary league.

When Crewe arrives to the prison, he mercurial learns that both the guards and the inmates do not desire his presence. This is also one of the reasons why he declines to aid the Warden, as the guards are disgusted by his past in the professional league where he was appointed the most significant player. Immediately Crewe sets an example through which he acquires some respect, but it also means that he must relieve the warden. He finds himself suggesting that the guards should play a tune-up game against some awful players, which gives Hazen the notion of a game between the guards and the inmates.

At first, some inmates join up with Crewe, but there is a severe lack of talent among the prisoners and many of them are suspicious about Crewe. Eventually, some talent emerges out of the secret hiding places and offers services to the team. Many join the team to procure a chance to repay the guards for years of humiliation and afflict. With the assist of ancient Heisman winner Nate Scarborough (Burt Reynolds) and Caretaker (Chris Rock) Crewe has four weeks to prepare this rowdy bunch into a well-oiled Mean Machine that will be ready to stomp the guards. However, it is not a painless slouch for Crewe and company, as they face distinguished adversity from within the prison while the heat begins to beget up for a game that is beginning to earn national attention.

Once again, Peter Segal partners up with Adam Sandler with whom he made Arouse Management (2003) and 50 First Dates (2004), but it is not where Segal began his career directing comedies. It is determined that Segal absorb the skill of delivering decent comedies, yet noteworthy of the humor in the film is unoriginal and recognizable from other films. Despite the formulaic near, Segal succeeds in creating an attractive conception that works and offers both humor and drama. Some of the success might be due to that the film staying halt to the recent by Robert Aldrich from 1974 with Burt Reynolds. Whatever it is in the film that makes it work, it ends up creating a tale of trust, unity, and loyalty, which emerges in one of the least likely places in the world - prison.

Thanks to my numerous contacts in the media (okay, I admit, I snuck in), I was able to survey a pre-screening of Adam Sandler’s latest film “The Longest Yard.” The movie is a remake of the 1974 Burt Reynold’s classic of the same name. Adam Sandler plays Paul Crewe, a frail NFL MVP quarterback that was accused of shaving points from a game. He is washed out of the NFL, and we derive up with him five years later at a party being hosted by his girlfriend. Crewe gets drunk, steals his girlfriend’s car, and later goes on a high hurry accelerate with police that results in his arrest.

Enter James Cromwell as Warden Hazen. Hazen is a warden of a Texas prison that sports a semi-professional football team that could utilize the attend of the NFL inmate. Hazen pulls some favors and finds himself with the star prisoner, and through the standard means forces Crewe to aid out his team. Crewe suggests a practice game against a lesser opponent to sharpen the skills of the players and to salvage their confidence up. Warden Hazen then tells Crewe to keep together a team of prisoners to prefer on the guards. During this Crewe befriends Caretaker, played by Chris Rock.

This movie is a speedy spellbinding popcorn film that is delicious for its faith to the new film, and the unique twists and upgrades this film makes. Sandler plays his character well, he even looks like he beefed up for the portion, Chris Rock is cross mouthed as usual, but the audience begins to empathize with his character. The audience will savor the numerous cameos that include Chris Berman for ESPN, Bill Goldberg and Stone Cool Steve Austin of wrestling lore, and the indefatigable Burt Reynolds, who plays an extinct inmate who in a passe life won the Heisman trophy.

It is primary to imprint that Reynolds truly does embarass the rest of the cast with his acting ability. In a lot of ways I can’t bear that I’m actually saying that, but it’s suitable. In the first piece of the film, we catch extinct to the onscreen presence of Sandler, Rock et al. But once Reynolds walks into the film, we realize objective how terrible all the other actors are, despite their above par performances. If you can level-headed suspend your disbelief with Reynolds on shroud, then you will indulge in this movie.

There were some downpoints to the film. James Cromwell is unbiased not believable. There are plenty of sophomoric antics that Sandler has yet to worn from, and there is plenty of tasteless humor about prison sodomy that detracts greatly from the film. Fortunately, the film moves too fleet to dwell on such things. This movie is not art, and it is not the drama that the first incarnation was, but it’s a lot more fun.

Very disappointed. While one of my accepted movies, it was almost

unwatchable due to the terrible audio and video. It was almost as if it were a tenth generation copy from a unpleasant fresh. I will not select anything else produced by this company.

This is one of my all time approved movies…the sequel to Father of the Bride with all the same cast wait on again. However what a mess this DVD is. The quality is execrable. Some scenes are so lightened up you can’t even recognize faces! Parts of the movie were also gash out, such as when Liz Taylor is sitting in the swing with Spencer Tracy outside while her modern house is being built. You can also scrutinize cuts and scratches in the film. I also bought Father of the Bride on DVD at the same time and what a dissimilarity! The quality is astonishing! I guess that is becuase it was released by Warner Brothers and not some 2 bit unknown company. I hope Warner Brothers will effect out of a copy of this broad movie some day! Until then I will scream myself with the VHS version I taped off of a cable movie channel 10 years ago!!

well, i made the mistake of picking this movie up after reading the product description and coming to the conclusion that, for the note, it was a win. for the first hour or so the movie is provocative, however *SPOILERS AHEAD* after the death of a positive key character the movie slips downhill. *END SPOILERS* even more so, i felt as if i was ripped off by the ending, which is quite predictable if you know movie cliches. this movie is a rental at best.

I reflect that if you have already had some experience watching Japanese movies you may recall this more than if it is your first foray into Japanese cinema. Yes, the movie is fairly long and monotonous at some points but the yarn is enthralling and the characters more or less believeable.

Not all movies need to be swiftly paced or stout of intense action sequences to be excellent.

I recommend this movie, more to fans of Japanese films, but as well to those looking for something not “Hollywood.”

I like these type of biographical shows. This I like even more because I truly respect the individual that it’s about. It does veil most of Trump’s early achievements up to the mid 90’s, shame it doesn’t have information about his more original conquests, like the apprentice and other more new projects. It’s a excellent view.

This A&E Biography of the reknowned dealmaker and mult-millionaire and possibly billionaire Donald Trump Rules. It’s a must inspect!!I hope he supports legalized gambling in my economically sorrowful status of West Virginia!!
